I had my colonscopy done today.  Thankfully there weren't any problems.  The paperwork that I was sent home with says - The mucosa of the terminal ileum and the ileocecal valve appeared cobblestoned, edematous, erosive, erythermatous, friable, hypertrophic, scarred, ulcerated and thickened.  Multiple random pinch biopsies were obtained from the terminal ileium, the heptic flexure, the traverse colon and the rectum.  Otherwise normal.

So in other words I'm having a bad flare.  I go back to see the doctor in 2 weeks for a follow-up of the biopsies and to see if the new medicine he put me on is helping.

Sure sounds like a flare to me. What meds did he put you on?

The new medicine he has started me on is Colazal.  I had not heard of this medicine before but he said it was along the same lines as Pentasa which I was on for a couple of years prior to my last surgery.  He also put me on Flagyl a couple of weeks ago and said he wanted to continue it for a while.  I hate taking the Flagyl because it makes my face break out and there isn't anything I can do about it.  It ususally clears up after I've been off it for a week or so.
