I've read about  Crohn's causing Clubing of hands or finger tips and wondered if any of you have this symptom...............this Dr mentions it briefly but I thought it was an interesting article.   If someone shook my hand too harshly, I'm sure I'd winch as some  of my finger joints are quite painful at times depending on what work I've been up to.................

Hi Tess, I've had horizontal dents in my finger nails. I always wondered what they were. My doc did tell me it was due to crohns,
but I didn't know how, but that article clarified that for me. Thanks

Hi! My son who was diagnosed with CD about a year and a half ago started having dents in his fingernails and the doc had no idea where it was coming from. I started investigating on line and discovered that these nail dents are ofton the result of a stored iron deficiency. i went back to his doc who tested his stored iron levels and sure enough he had an iron deficiency. He started on Ferrex and within a few months the dents disappeared. I hope this info may be helpful.
