Hi everyone!
I recently started to become sick again and wondered if anyone else had any advice.  It started with a sinus infection, then 2 weeks ago I started having "d" everytime I eat.  Now for two weeks, anything that I eat, within an hour I am in the bathroom.  THis happens with even jell-o.  I am to the point of being weak and dizzy and dehydrated.  Well I went in the emergency room last week because the pain got so bad and they did a catscan and the doctor felt that i had a blockage. When talking to my GI doctor, he said that the films could look that way because of the resectioning and removal that I had.  I had my remicade treatment a couple of days ago and felt that I was feeling better and that lasted a day. now the D has started again.  I am now going on week 3 of constant D (10 plus times per day). I have to go on Tuesday for another upper GI. YUK.  Well I am just looking for some support right now because I am scared and tired of being sick. I do not want to have surgery again because, well, that was the worst thing i have ever endured in my life and i do not think i have it in me to do that again.  I have been feeling well up to this point and my doctor and I even discussed lengthening my remicade.  I am so upset! I just needed to talk to someone who understands what I am going through and how scared I am.

Hello Wenders,
I'm very sorry you are feeling so poorly. Its just the worst when you have a sinus infection! Are you still on antibiotics for it -- they often give me the runs! It sounds like you went to the doctor quickly, which is good. I'm hoping they can fix it while it is still a smaller problem. Maybe it will be much more manageable. I think it will be easier next time for me because I will know what to expect and know that I made it before -- still not fun but the first time was horrible because I had no clue and felt totally out of control. Knowing helps alot, I think. And knowing you caught it early before it really blew up. Please let us know how it goes -- there are some wonderful people in this room who have been through it all!

Take care!

I'm sorry you are feeling bad again.  CD stinks!!  I was curious though as to why you said that surgery was the worst thing you have endured?  I'm facing resection so I'm curious as to your experience

Were you on Antibiotics for the sinus infection? Yes, they do give you the runs and also can give you c-diff, which can cause a ton of D. Make sure you get a stool culture done. hopefully no more resections, but I never felt healthier as I did after my 3.
Diagnosed at age 19 with CD.
3 small bowel resections, 1 for perforation, 2 for strictures

I am so sorry that you are feeling sick again..... I do have to agree with the others that talked about if you were put on antibiotics. If you were, have you been taking probiotics to replenish your good troops down there? I had a 20 day cold turned sinus infection and the 2 sets of antibiotics I took fixed the sinus infection but ran havoc on my bm's.

I definately would get a stool culture too.

good luck
