I was wondering how long it took everyone to notice an improvement from humira.  i started it last week and i haven't seen a difference yet.  i know i still have to get more injections, but was wondering what everyone's experiences were.

It all depends on the severity of your symptoms at the time when you started the Humira. My GI said it may take me 2 or 3 months to get the full effects from it since my CD is severe at the moment. I started back in September. I have a fistula which it is helping but not healing looks like i need more then just his med or other traditional methods to make that better. I have noticed tho since on the HUmira my joint problems are less and most times non existant which is initially why I was going on it and while it was waiting for authorixation the fistula decided to join in on the party from he** I have been having this year.

It all varies I did notice less drainage from the fistula a few days after the first loading dose of 4 shots but I am still flaring terribly not only the fistula but the abdominal pain is fierce. I hope that after my surgery since my body had humira in it at a steady rate now that it will keep those symptoms away. I think my fistula was brewing since about JUly that was when the pain began I think once the affected area is removed that the humira may put me into remission since I have seen the fistula size get smaller and drainage become less...just wish it would heal the darn thing rather than me needing a 4th surgery but if thats what I need to get better then bring it on

GL with Hunira it may take a while to kick in depending on the severity but you should feel relief soon

on a side note to curly's post, much discussion here seemed to "point to" syringes being less painful then pens.
48 y/o woman.  Diagnosed 4/06 after colonscopy, SBFT, CT-scan all showed crohns. 3 months later, after pred and remicade, all tests showed no crohns. In December had adhesions cut through a laparoscopy. Now just taking Glycolax, metamucil and vicidin as needed.
