I don't know if it's the meds, or the disease working on my body, or what, but ever since I was diagnosed I have the worst BO whenever I sweat even a little bit.  And the least little bit of stress or fatigue makes me sweat.  (Like I don't have enough weird smells coming out of my body!)  Does anyone else have this problem?  Any suggestions?  I bathe regularly, and my deodorant doesn't touch it.  I'm willing to try a different brand, but I have sensitive skin and Secret breaks me out, so their new prescription strength is probably not a good idea.

My daughter has the same problem. She sweats alot. The secret clinical strength does not help with the sweating, but she said that it does cover up the odor. She tried everything else and nothing has worked. Hope you find something that works.

Hey there

Sorry you have run into this problem.  Various  drugs or other substances may cause your symptoms. Always ask  your doctor if any medications or treatments you are using, including prescription, over-the-counter, supplements, herbal or alternative treatments could be the culprit.

I hope you are able to find help with this problem as I am sure it is very distressful for you.

I have always had really strong odor under my arms the only deodorant that seems to work is secret platnum I know they have a new one out now too that is supposed to be stronger but I will use that one next if this one starts to fail on me. I find that the solid works better than the gel one that was the initial form it came out in then finally they made the solid. I did notice while on TPN I could smell it coming out of my pores and my urine in the morning for the 1st few times after disconnecting all I could smell was the tpn.

Just thought of something maybe try the Dove one the new one that they have that helps breakouts under arms etc I got a free sample of it by asking for one online and I also noticed I did not have BO issues with that one either

I have a very strong sense of smell, and detected a certain odour on me in hospital whilst on TPN. It wasn't until the bags were being changed one day and some spilt I realized it was the TPN I could smell on me. I don't have BO though rarely sweat since loosing so much weight I am more on the cold side and shiver my way through.

I use degree for women. I had a sweating issue but not a BO issue. Degree antiperspirant is what helped me.

I prowled the antipersperant aisle at the grocery store this weekend and came home with something a little stronger.  I was using Dove, which has 18.5% of whatever the active ingredient is.  I picked up something that has 19%.  Not a big difference, but the 20% was the "clinical" strength, and that stuff was $8 a stick!  I'll try the 19% first.
We had a cold snap this weekend, and this being Texas, my office is heated to a tropical 78 degrees.  I'm dewy, but no one has passed out after walking into my office yet, so I think the new stuff is helping. yeah

I have extremely sensitive skin. Dry Idea Unscented works very well. It's a roll-on but doesn't stay wet, dries right away.

a few years ago, I had a very strong body odor.  I came to find out I had a very deep rectal abcess that was brewing.  It took a few years for it come to need surgery, but, strangley after that the odor went away.  Now I use that as a red flag that something is flaring.

Dx with CD 1987, 3 resections, 3 abcess sx, OA back & hips, bulging disk, Major depression/anxiety, kidney stones & sx to remove, now 44 yrs old.  Still trying to figure this disease out & of course all the little extra complications that come with this rollarcoaster of a life with CD.

I sweat a lot too, but don't have a big issue with odour (until late in the day!) I didn't even think about connections with medications. I switched to Ban anti-perspirant/deodorant a while ago (24.5% of the active ingredient) and noticed a huge difference. There is also an OTC product called Drysol which is stronger, though I am not too fond of the idea of closing up my sweat glands altogether.

I have noticed that my body has a very different odor to it for the past few months, not necessarily BO but a strong scent that isn't very pleasant to me. I thought maybe it was all the meds I'm taking...not sure, I just bath every day and use a strong deodorant, plus a light touch of perfume.
