Hello all, I'm James. I'm an Ozzie living in Calafornia, 20 years old and I have Cystic Fibrosis. I'm new to the fourms so I'm unfrimilar on how activly you cysters and fibros use it!!

I was wondering I any of you had any weight gain tips. I'm not to sucessful, my lung function is non existant, but any help I will accept!

I'm also on the transplant list for lungs and liver. Been on the lung list for almost a year and three weeks!

If anyone uses the fourm, I'd love to hear about you and your family/self CF struggle. Keep on breathing!

Hi James!

For over a year now I have been doing NG tube feeding and that has really helped to boost my weight.  In the first five weeks I put on 4kg!  tongue

Some people don't like the idea of passing the tube but it really does get easier with practise and now I can pass it in about 10 seconds!  I really would recommend it to you.  I also have tried various supplements (Calshakes and Fortisip milkshake style drinks) but the NG feeding has really kept the weight on and I am the heaviest I have been for a couple of years.

What have you tried so far?

Yep, that's the one.

Means you can have over-night feeds and the like. :)

I used to like Skandishake, you can make alsorts out of Skandishakes. Stopped them now, as I'm at a decent weight thanks to anti-depressants. But, they were definately a good weight stabiliser for me, as I could make each one different, so never got bored.
