Hello, am new here, I have a new friend who has CF, something seems very different to me, she was not diagnosed until she was 31, prior to that and growing up she was very active, in highschool and college she was on the lacrosse, soccer and cross country track teams, she remembers being extremely capable with no indication of fatigue or anything that might be indicative of CF , at age 27 she had a child and some short time after that noticed fatiguing effects and common symptoms of CF...she was "offically diagnosed " as having CF at age 31 and she has been fighting these adverse effects ever since...does anyone know if there are hormonally related causes that exacerbate CF...there seems to be such a dramatic difference before and after her giving birth...

It could be so yes. I would say due to lacks in minerals balance and assimilation of nutrients from salt reduction etc. Also, CF's tend to have MANY pancreatic/Liver/Gallbladder and or GI issues as well, which can in turn, impact Thyroid and Hormones as well as Adrenal function. Antibiotics and some other medications can down regulate Probiota function too, so it depends on what she was given etc.

I work with people every day, via nutrition, overall wellness and genetic tendencies, and my own daughter is a carrier as well as my husband. I am amazed how many 'carriers' are symptomatic!

It took an active ground up approach for them both and still sometimes they have flares, but both are much better now from huge lifestyle and nutritional changes.

I hope your friend finds her answers to better wellness.

As an FYI, we ran complete hormones, GI, Metabolic and CBC diff panels for our daughter, as well as a Nutreval.

We cut out ALL processed foods, refined sugar and flour (use organic only), added enzymes, probiotics, and she went on an active GI protocol among other things.
