My name is Andy and I found out that I had CF when I was 16 (I am now 19) after a near-death experience with a really bad infection. I am now seeing a great doctor in Tulsa and my PFTs are in the high 90s. I don't seem to have the complications with my lungs as much as ear infections, sinus infections, and lower intestinal tract problems. I am attending college now in order to become a physical therapist assistant and hope that I can stay out of the hospital long enough to obtain my degree. I am a Christian and am very active in church and in fact, love to sing southern gospel music. God gives me strength to get through my sickness and the prayers of my fellow Christians are never ceasing. Please reply because I would love to hear from other CFers and how they deal with their illness.

                                                                God Bless

Hello Andy and welcome to HW!  I am from Oklahoma too!

My youngest child (11 yr. old) has CF, he was diagnosed when he was 10 (last AugustJ).  He is doing really well, his pft's are the high 80's, 90's.  His weight is not the greatest, but we are working on it!

Sounds like you are doing really well!  Good luck with the school and the singing.
