Hey any and everyone who reads this! My name is Emily, I'm almost 17 yrs old, and have lived knowing about my cf for 15 years. I love riding horses, which i do many times a week, playing volleyball, baseball, and ultimate frisbee. I'm really new to this site, and just decided to join today. I went for a checkup today, and I finally saw some cf'ers my own age! But then of course we were kept as far away from each other as possible...typical.  So i decided i want to meet some new ppl and hear about how they cope with their cf every day...plus i'm really bored!

Hello Emily and welcome to Healing Well!

You sound like a very active girl, that is wonderful!

My son just had his 3 month checkup and all is well.  He isn't as active as most, we are working on that and on his appetite (he was down a few ounces).

I hope he gets those ounces back on. Every little bit counts. How old is he?

He will be 12 on Sept. 9'th.  He weighed in at 58 lbs.  I have him on the Carnation drinks and he was doing well with drinking them at first, but the past several weeks he says they make him sick to his stomache and now he won't drink them.  He seems to have no appetite lately.  It has been unbearably hot here the past month and maybe that has something to do with it.

He started school 2 weeks ago and normally loves the food there, but this year they must have changed vendors as he said the food does not taste/isn't the same.  I will give him a couple of more weeks to adjust...

Hi Emily! Im new here too! I am 31 yrs old. I think it is the best thing for you to stay active. You sound like me at your age. I rode horses, did gymnastics, msc other sports...I believe thats why I stayed so healthy. Don't stop being active, and keep riding...horses are a great stress reliever and even better friends when you are a teen ager.

hi, emily!  i'm deirdre (deer-druh).  nineteen years old.  I was only diagnosed with cf a few years ago.  luckily, i only have a mild case, but it still gets me down when i think about it all.  so, i try not to do that too much.  haha... anyway, i'm nowhere near as active as you seem to be.  i need to start some sort of excercise regimen.  uhm... well, just thought i'd reply to your post since i'm here.  take care :D

i should probably add my email address for anyone who wants to talk.  dcp18@sfsu.edu  email me anytime!!  i'd love to hear what you have to say, even if it's just "hello"!

Hi Emily! I am 19, and was diagnosed at 6 months. I like riding horses too, not too great with sports though. But, I try to be as active as possible. :) I haven't tried to think too much of having CF until recently when I have started to realize my lung functions have been dropping a little every few years. But, I always try to stay positive. I thought it might be nice to have someone to relate to though, and I saw this website. E-mail me anytime you want, my address is: DitzyDancerof06@aol.com.

Hey!
I'm Leah, I'm 14 and I love to run and play basketball. I'm one of the fastest runners on my track team! I like to read and write, but I want to be  nurse. I listen to bands like: Fall Out Boy, Three Days Grace, and I like artist like Avril Laviegn, Pink, Taylor Swift, and others. I think in some ways music actually saved my life. I have two relly good friends that dont have CF, but they try to understand. I have never met someone else with CF before, as you said, we are kept far away from each other. If you want to talk ( and I wouldn't mind chatting  with you too.^^) My email address is leah_hollis94@yahoo.com

hi
im kate, im 15 and i have a mild case of CF as well. I was in the state swimming team, played hockey, softball and cricket but have given it away because of school demands. I really LOVE music, that was another reason why I chose to give up sport temporarily (much to my parents annoyance) because I had 3 exams within a few weeks of eachother and then school exams. I find it halleuva annoying that we have to be kept apart and all that but what can you do. in my opinion scientists can be the biggest kill joys.

my email is apple-sauce-lover@hotmail.com
