Hi everyone,

I am a mother with a daughter recently diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. let me tell you it was really hard at first but now im getting used to it a month later. it just seems like i can't get her to eat anything. she just recently lost 1 1/2 lbs in 2 weeks. i just took her to the ER tonight cause she was very winey and hitting her ears she has had cold symptoms since wednesday, come to find out she had really bad ear infections. so now she is on antibiotics and motrin and tylonol for pain. she also takes 2 breathing treatments a day of zopenex and pulmacourt, and a multi vitamin and also enzymes before every meal and snack. any suggestions on how to make a 18 month old take them other then in applesause, she hates taking them. i would love to chat with annyone i also have aol chat with screen name sissaw07.

Hi! Sorry to hear of your daughters diagnosis of cf. I know it is hard at all the new information they give you in the beginning can be quite overwhelming. Glad that your daughter is feeling better now that she is on the proper medications. I really dont know of any other way to give the enzymes except in the applesauce. My son has always been good about taking them. Sometimes I have to mix them in about half a jar of the applesauce instead of just a spoonful. If you mix them up real well it's not as hard for them to detect the beads. Anyway I hope you find the support you are looking for....it really does help and you will learn lots of things you didn't know just by reading other peoples experiences.
