Hi there,

I am wondering if someone could help me out with a few answers. My husband has CF, he is 35 and in very good health. We are very lucky that he has one of the mildest strains of CF.  We want to start trying to have childern and we know that his vas deferens is gone so we will have to do invitro. I am wondering if anyone on here is in a similar situation and how things are going, how long, chance of sucess, etc. Any help you could give me would be much appreciated.

Hi Spenilly, Just to say welcome to healingwell.

Sorry you've been left waiting for a response, I had missed the post for some reason.
I'm not sure about the answers too any of your questions, I haven't been in the situation myself.
I wish you the best of luck though!

Hey there!

I am in the same boat as you are...I just recently joined this forum (today actually).  My husband is 27 and has CF but we are not sure what strain...he struggles and I can see a change in him over the last couple of years.  We, too, are trying to find resources for invitro...financing is the biggest obstacle.  There ought to be some sort of grant for CF patients!  LOL

Keep in touch...

I was just doing some research on this topic and found this forum.  My husband and I just found out that he has a mild form of CF as well.  He is 34 years old and we only found this out when we tried to conceive unsuccessfully.  We did some tests and that is what we found out.  We started the beginning stages of IVF this past winter and decided to stop, just due to us not knowing if it is what we wanted to do.   Have either of you gone any further?  We are still debating, a very hard situation to be in and not a lot of people to talk to.
