My husband has been taking trazadone for 5 years.  He is snoring very loudly.  When he doesn't take the drug, he does not snore.  Does anyone else have this side effect?

Hi Koco

I have found that taking certain meds puts me in a deeper sleep,so therefore I snore..

What about trying the breathright strips?

Hi Koco,

I take trazodone at bedtime for insomnia, and it works like a charm.  I haven't noticed any side effects, aside from sleepiness, which is the desired effect for me.  When I was on any of the benzo's (zoplicone, oxazepam, etc.) for insomnia, I noticed the unwanted side effect of memory impairment.  I don't get this side effect from trazodone.

I checked several sites online, and snoring was not listed as a side effect on any site.  You might want to google "snoring, causes" and see what comes up.

Good luck.
