I just recently got out of the hospital for severe depression to the point I had planned to end it all.  I am a Christian and the year 2007 was terrible.  My hubby almost died in March, my son and his wife lost their twins in July, our house was damaged by water in September and did a lot of damage from the washer upstairs and I had a terrible fight with my dearest friend in the world who I thought would never have anything to do with me again.  It was just too much.  I knew I was losing it so I admitted myself to the hospital.  Right now I am carrying a secret that only God and I know.  I know I need to tell my therapist but I dont think I can.  I know I need to do something because it is hanging over my head.  I am on new antidepressants.  It seems to be helping.  I  am glad I found this forum.  I really need the support.  Thanks

Hi there and Welcome to HealingWell,

It sounds like you have had a really bad year. But 2008 is about a new start and a new beginning.

As for the secret you are holding, you could tell us if you find it easier to type (but also bear in mind we have to keep it within the forum rules). I think the main thing to consider is that this secret is holding you back and is starting to have a detrimental effect on your life. Without telling someone (and your therapist is a great place to start) moving forward will be much more difficult.

Everyone has a guardian angel. They help pick you up when you fall, comfort you through your times of need and help you appreciate the times when things are going well.

I'm so sorry to hear all that that you went through.

I don't know what your thoughts and secrets are, or how severe they are, but I trust my therapist with everything. If you feel it would help to let it out, go for it.

Remember, 2008 is still early. It's time for a new beginning. I wish you good luck, health, and happiness for the new year. Hang in there.
