hey Katy,
your question was can a stressful situation or event make u depressed? Well in my opinion, yes, because once you begin to focus on the situation or the event or anything, if its one that isnt typically a "pretty situtation" its easy to becme depressed over it. You said your spouse has BP and that its his mood swings that are affecting yours, well have you been able to talk to him about it? Instead of taking medications, perhaps you could find something that you really enjoy doing that when his moods are up you could do until he calms down. Im not trying to sound offensive i dont know much about BP or about your situation. Im just tyring to help:)
I reccomend that if you like writing or drawing, anything that YOU enjoy alot, to do it when you need you time so that his mood swings dont affect you.
hope this helps, take care.

Hi Katy,

Does your husband take anything for bipolar?  I think that you should talk to him about the situation.  He really should be on medication.  This would take a load off of your mind.  Also maybe you need to see a therapist to help you deal with your situation.  Especially if you don't want to take medications.  His situation could dedfinately affect you especially if he has extreme mood swings.  Bipolar can be really hard to deal with.

You need to keep your relationship open with him.  Maybe he doesn't realize how he is affecting you.  But yes I would recommend therapy to help you to understand what he is going through and he needs some kind of help.

I wish you luck with this and in the meantime, keep posting here, we willl help you in any way that we can.

hugs,

Karen

Hi Katy,

How are things going for you today? I like the verse on your signature, I use to be an obsessive worrier. It does take a lot of energy doesn't it.

Have a wonderful day/evening

hugs,
Karen
