Hey Guy,

You have come to a good place for information and support. Though I do recommend some one on one therapy. But keep posting, this is a start. There are a lot of wonderful people here who do understand what you are going through. Hopefully we can help you some. There is no judging going on here, just honest oppinions and doing the best we can for advice.

So welcome to the depression forum. Please don't feel ashamed to be depressed. It is something that you can't help. It is usually situational or chemical imbalance, which can be helped by medications, though sometimes it takes a while to find the right one.

Either way this is a big step that you have just taken. Hope that this helps some. Have a great day and keep posting.

Hello Guy and Welcome to HealingWell and the Depression Forum.

I am sorry you are feeling down and please do not feel embarrassed.  You are in good company here and remember there is no shame in having any issues with depression. :-)

May I suggest that you start with your family physician and receive a good medical screening exam to make sure you have no physical problems going on that would cause you to feel depressed.  Remember your physician is not allowed to discuss your medical history or visits with anyone, not even your next of kin without your permission.

Please keep posting to us and if you would, give us a bit more information....................what prompted you to take this online test?

You will find the members here very caring and supportive so again a warm welcome to you.

Hi Guy

I too want to welcome you to the forum, you have been given excellent advice.
I just wanted to add something... for some reason it seems to be harder for men to seek help,I am not sure why that is BUT, it is not a big deal. You go to your doctor, you let him know what is going on and he tells you what you need to do. They won't think any less of you, they won't think that you are weak ect ect.. they understand that life is hard and therefore we have to ask for help once in awhile...

Please remember,I am not a professional..I am just a person who is also fighting depression.

I know I'm in my own little world, but it's ok. They know me here.
