I think a French language class is a great idea. Once you have mastered a little French, you can start to practise in real life (With a group of peers of your own age) and slowly build your vocab up. If your in a small group, going up to the bar and saying "Cinq bière s'il vous plait" and offering the barman money is usually a good start! lol Also bear in mind that most French people can speak english. They will appreciate your a learner and make allowances.
Everyone has a guardian angel. They help pick you up when you fall, comfort you through your times of need and help you appreciate the times when things are going well.
