Calamag,

I am not much help here because I am not familiar with lamictal. I have taken welbutrin, it is more of a stimulant type anti depressant. It doesn't make you sleepy or gain weight. It helped me to think more clearly.

I am sure that your doctor wouldn't prescribe if he/she thought that there would be any adverse effects. So I am sure that everything will be okay. Hopefully somebody will come along with some more information.

I am not familiar with you, so I wanted to welcome you to HealingWell depression forum. There are a lot of wonderful members here that hopefully will give you some information on the lamictal.

Keep posting,

Karen

Hi Calmg, My son takes Lamictal for seizures due to epilepsy.  It has worked wonders for him.  The one thing you have to be careful of is if you get a red rash.  That is a bad sympton and should be reported to your Dr. immediately.  If you develop the rash I believe you have to stop the medication.  That is my only experience with this med and I hope it works out for you.
