This is a very deep question... It is so hard with depression alone, but you are fighting another disease as well. Parkinson's disease is so very difficult. I really feel for you at this time.
How we are defined is as an individual. Though the depression cloud is hanging over, you are still who you are. And I think it is the steps that you take to battle it that define who you are.
Are you getting your depression treated with a doctor or counseling? I would recommend both. Medication keeps the symptoms under control, but the counseling is what really helps you to see the person that you really are. I know with help you can get through this.
