I was supposed to have a growth removed from my uterus and had pre-op tests.  My EKG came back very changed from my previous ones.  MY PCP said no surgery until they find out what has caused the changes.  This is a change over a 7 mo. period from my last normal EKG. Saw a cardiologist and also had to go to the ER because of breathing problems. Had 2 more EKGs and they were like the first changed one.  I have to have a stress test and an echocardiogram. They are not scheduled until Aug. 27.  I guess if the situation were life threatening the cardio dr. would have put me in the hospital.  I could have some blockage or a thickening of heart muscle due to several years of high blood pressure, although it is controlled by medicine.  I don't know yet if lung problems are related to heart problems and worry about maybe having to have an angioplasty.  This really scares me and it scares me that I have had such bad breathing problems for the past month.  Dr. said it could be part asthma and part very bad allergies.  I have been using my 2 inhalers every day for the past month and my voice is really hoarse.  Got a spacer for the inhakers and that helps and the ER also gave me prednisone which of course has me bouncing off the walls. I am just plain scared of what might be wrong.  And I don't even know when I will be able to have by uterine surgery.  My son is getting married in a year so I want to be around for the wedding. I am just having such worried thoughts right now and just want my health to return to normal.  Anyone ever had an angioplasty and is it painful?  What is involved?  I know I would have to have an angiogram first.  Please, please reply - I feel so alone and scared.

Dear Aurora,

I am so sorry you are so frightened and disappointed that your surgery was put off or pushed back is maybe a better way of stating that.

My sister is in the hospital with ovarian cancer and renal failure.  She needs surgery but they will not do it until she is cleared by cardiology so know you are not alone.  This is standard operating procedure.

I am sure you will be fine but it is best to make sure then go ahead blind into surgery..............know I am thinking of you.

Gentle Hugs
