Hello. I am a member of the Lyme Disease forum but I also have dealt with depression my entire life. My doctor ran some labs on me and she thinks my liver is reacting bad to the Cymbalta I am on. My sugars and electrolytes are all messed up. I seem to have a metallic taste in my mouth. I am very worried about this. She has droppped my dosage, 60 mg to 30 mg to see if my numbers change. Does anyone know anything about this or have had a similar experience?  Please get back to me. thanks, amey

Hi Amey,

I haven't had any experience with cymbalta. Just make sure to let us know how it goes. I would be concerned too. I have taken medications like wellbutrin and zyban that put a bad taste in my mouth, but never metallic. I hope that the decrease in meds helps you. Keep us posted.

Hugs, Karen

I dont have any specific experience with Cymbalta but I do know that some meds dont react well with the liver (Since its the Liver that breaks the meds down). As long as your doctor is on top of things then there shouldnt be any reason to worry. It might be a case of lowering the dose or maybe changing the med all together but either way, your doctor sounds like she is on the ball
