Today is thanksgiving, I am spending this day without someone I hold dear to me, my brother. He is in the hospital, what happened is explained briefly in this newspaper for my neighborhood. http://www.northjersey.com/news/Investigators_to_examine_evidence_from_fatal_crash.html
My brother is the 14 year old boy in Hackensack University Hospital. I saw him for the first time yesterday since the accident, I refused to see him before because I was afraid he might look really beaten up, when I went yesterday I was so upset, I held his hand and it was limp and lifeless. He is on life support, the doctors said they would do one last test on him to see if his brain will respond, his brain has had no activity at all so far, The doctor said that if he doesnt move a hand, wake up or show some sign of life by Tomorrow or the latest saturday, he will be pronounced brain dead. When the doctor said these words I swore I felt my heart sink, my father was talking like he was already dead, showing the doctor pictures of him and saying , we did what we can do. It just isn't fair, I should have called him to tell him not to get in that car, My brother would have never gotten in that car unless his best friend Kevin was going there too, Kevin Beattie died. May he rest in peace. His other friend Dylan survived. For these next two days it is my brothers last chance at a fight for his life. What I am asking for here is prayers , even though you dont know him, just focus your strength on him and pray that he will wake up, just pray for Thomas, you dont know him and he doesnt know you, but please just pray for him please..it will make a difference please, everyone here, I need this more than anything and I dont know if that means anything but this is a small favor, just sneak in a prayer for him before your thanksgiving dinner. If you do this, it is greatly appreciated, note: you don't have to be religious, you can just hope for him if you cant pray.
