Im new to the forum and would really appreciate any advice. I was diagnosed with Crohns just over a year ago, and have since been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and since then the majority of my friends have cut me off. Its as if they think they're going to catch something no matter how many times I say that thats impossible. When i told my boss about the Fibromyalgia she looked at me as if i was making the whole thing up, but at the same time wouldnt give me a chance to explain. I feel so alone, and cant even speak to my GP as she snaps at me and gives the impression that im wasting her time. When i told a different doctor who im seeing for acupunture for migraines about this he said that it was a common reaction of employers?? The thing that hurt the most was when the christmas cards were given out at work and it felt like i was the only one not getting one from most people. I dont know why but im dreading christmas, when i should be enjoying it. But i just wish i could go to sleep and wake up in January. I really dont know what to do, so that i dont ruin christmas for everyone around me.

Hi Mich321,

Welcome to healing well. You have come to a wonderful place full of a ton of wonderful people who are kind and compassionate.

I take it that you are from Michigan, so am I. It has been very cold and snowy here this winter so far. Moreso than I can handle.

I have fibromyalgia too. I help moderate the fibro forum. You might want to visit there. It too is a wonderful place.

I am sorry that you are feeling alone. But try to take things one day at a time and hopefully things will fall into place for the holidays. I really don't think that you are ruining anybody elses holiday, so try not to think about that.

I hope that you have a wonderful night and a great day tomorrow. Keep posting, as we are here for you.

Hugs, Karen

Welcome to HealingWell ,

I have found the support, validation and encouragement that I receive here, to be so helpful and healing. I hope and trust that will be your experience as a member of the HW family.  You have come to the right place so do stick with us.

I know how it feels to have friends sort of drop out of your life when they find out you have an illness...........especially if it is a chronic one.  How unfair you did not get as many cards and perhaps if cards are past out they should be placed in private mail boxes or mailed to recipient.

Well we have a ton of good cheer being shared right here in HealingWell so browse the forums as look for the threads about Christmas.

Here is your own card from MN...............Mall of America.

Merry Christmas

Thank you so much, means so much to me what you've all said. Loving both the christmas cards Mom9mom and Kitt :) Sadly im not from Michigan, but from the UK Karen, on the west side where if we're lucky we get the odd flake or too of snow a year!! Last weekend the temperatures were so mild the outdoor ice rink melted, but it was cold enough to affect my fibromyalgia! Have a safe and fantastic day tommorrow. Happy Christmas

Heej Michelle,

I have not much too add, but I do want to wish you a merry Christmas. Those days can be harder than usual, but Christmas is also the time of love and compassion for each other. I hope you will receive both of them!

Have a wonderful Christmas Michelle!!

Happy New Year to you Michelle.  I too have found lots of comfort on this website.  It is full of good people and Great advice.  What really works great for me is i live my life one day at a time.  Also i have a higher power whom i choose to be God on my side.  He helps me when i am down all you have to do is ask for it.  I am one of them that live with depression.  who is my wife.  just one day at a time.  God bless.  yeah
