I just read some of the posts and caring responses on this forum...and knew I must be in the right place! Everybody seems really nice. I could use someone to talk to, as I have struggled with depression for most of my life. I'm not currently taking meds. I probably should be because things are really bad.

Hi and welcome to the forum! You are in the right place, everybody here is very understanding and supportive. Maybe you should seek some help to get on medication and possibly see a counselor? Getting help was the best thing I ever did although I'm still in the works. Know that we are all here for you and keep with us! Hang in there!

Hi Me,

I agree with Hope, you probably need to see a doctor and get into counseling. That is what has helped me throughout the years. And I am sure that it would help you too.

I can relate. I have been struggling with this illness my entire life as well. I understand the reluctance to go on medication because of the side effects and fear of how you may react. I have been battling with this on and off throughout my life, because although the anti depressants help they set me off into a manic state. This leaves me with few options of what to take for the depression so I am putting all my hope into lamictal. It involves alot of patience and perseverence but it is nice to know that there are others out there that have gotten better and can live normal lives. Good luck with everything. I highly recommend giving the medication a shot....:)
