This might have been covered before so I apologize if this has been discussed. I started on Prozac last summer and my dose has been slowly increased. I have done wonderful on it--better than any other anti-depressant i have tried. However, my skin is unbearably itchy! It is pretty much only my arms and shoulders. Over the summer I assumed it was due to too much sun since I am a sun lover and have a pool. Started off a slight itching at night. But as my dose has increased, so has the unbearable itching. Nothing helps--tried Benadryl and every type of lotion. Ice packs calm it a bit but I still have a really hard time sleeping. it is like it is under my skin--nerves maybe?? It is the worst itch and is making me crazy!! Talked to my Dr today and she said I should lower my dosage to see if it is the Prozac. Any one else had this???
Any advise is appreciated!!

I have tried Prozac years ago but only for a few weeks............I did not have any itching but perhaps others have info for you.

I would watch for any  welts or hives of any kind and just be generally cautious.  If the itching continues please do keep in contact with your physician.
