What exactly is depression and how can you tell symptoms?
I am new to this whole thing so I don't really know the purpose of this but I am 14 and things in my life have taken a toll for the worse lately and I know that I need to seek help but am just to scared too (I've had depression before). After I moved to my sixth school a few months ago it has been much harder to adjust and make new friends plus with family problems and I started  and things are continuing to get worse and I guess that I'm just looking for advice on what to do. Thank you

Hi There,

Welcome to healingwell. I think that your best advice would be to talk to a school counselor. You can tell when your depressed when you cry all of the time, you are tired all of the time and when you can't be happy. If you are experiencing any or all of these symptoms, you should talk to a friend, family member or a counselor. You can talk to your doctor to find a counselor, but most students your age, do start with the school counselor. Either way, you should talk to somebody.

Best wishes to you. I hope that you feel better, keep posting and let us know a little more about yourself. Be careful what you say. We are not suppose to talk about self harm. That is why I edited your post.

Hugs, Karen
