Hey everyone. I'm Danielle. I'm currently sixteen years old and suffering from depression. I am in therapy and have been for about 6 or 7 months. I go once a week. I'm also on celexa. Honestly, I don't think the celexa is working, but hey gotta give it a chance right? It's been about 3 months, so i'm thinking about talking to my doctor. Before I was on celexa I was taking prozac, clearly it wasn't working. It made me lose weight and I stopped eating. My entire life I have been under-weight it's not from not eating it's just how I am. I'm starting to work on gaining weight. Right now i'm right where I should be for my height. :)
Anyways, I have reasons why I am depressed under than it being heredity. Hopefully I can share my stories with some of you and get support from you. I'm always here for everyone, so talk to me if you need to talk.

Welcome XxDani3ll3lynn

I've been on Paxil for about 5 yrs now for my anxiety and depression. It has been working great for me with minimal side effects. Glad you're a part of our team. We are all here to uplift one another. Again, welcome aboard!

Welcome to healingwell Dani, you have come to the right place. I'm sorry to hear about your depresion and the issues that your younger brother are going through. sometimes depression seems to run deep in the family, I wonder if any of your parents or grand parents have went through something similar.

It's is good news that you are taking care of yourself and taking positive steps by seeking help and trying out medicine. but remember medicine alone won't help you, you have to work on yourself, by reading and talking to either conselers or other people who suffer like you or went through similar experience. I'm not saying medicine doesn't help, but it doesn't usually work alone it needs support from you and you need to work hard to find the path that leads to healing. for me medicine helped me a great deal when I was really down but after a number of years I didn't need it anymore, I'm not fully healed as I still need to work on me and find my path to healing but I don't feel I need more medicine at this time, what I need is , as I said to work on myself.

anyway, good luck to you and your brother, I hope you find that path your looking for and that you feel better soon, take care!

Glad you found us, not under the circumstances of course, but there is enough support here to go around.

I am 17, almost 18, and I have been on here since I was 15 so I have grown a lot and met a lot of people on here. They have helped me through thick and thin and it has been good.

I also suffer from depression, anxiety, panic attacks... I have Fibromyalgia also. I have been in therapy for almost 4 months now. And I just started seeing a psychopharmacologist.. lol wow. Anyways, I have been on Paxil since last August and I made the decision to quit it..which I am doing now and it isnt easy! And to start Cymbalta. He also gave me sampes of Rozerem to help with my sleep problems. It has worked quite well actually.

Anyways, I know what its like being our age and going through this... its quite hard. So, if you need to talk or anything, Im here for ya. Keep posting
Lyrica(15 months on-quit Feb. 09),Paxil(10-11 months, quit 6-4-09) Starting Cymbalta and Rozerem Fibromyalgia, Depression, Anxiety, Panic Attacks-currently in therapy-new doc thinks I could have Dysthymia or Borderline Personality Disorder...
