Tuesday night I had 4 beers, I am not a big drinker and really can not remember the last time I had anything to drink, but for two days after that I felt awful.  Yesterday I was in the dirt, today I am feeling better but I had no idea it would mess with you so bad while you are on these meds.  Lesson learned.  My Dr. did not even warn me about this as alcohol was not an issue with me.  Is this a standard rule of thumb, so to speak?
I hope everyone has a great week-end.  Suppose to be about 95 here in North Carolina, which means the humidity will be about 200%, ha ha

Ok I get it Jamie.  Thanks!  No one ever said I was the sharpest tool in the shed.  It will be water or sweet tea for this southern belle from now on.
I really think my AD was starting to work but this really set me back.  Oh well, live and learn, I am not going to beat myself up over it, just forgive forget and go on.

I am surprised that it didn't at least say on your prescription bottle to avoid alcohol. Yes that is a depressant. Even one drink a day can make you depressed. Sorry to say. But I do have a beer on occasion. Not much though. But I do try to avoid as often as I can. I am not a drinker, though with this hot weather, it sounds good. I should go to the sweet tea too. lol...

Im on a combo of anti-depressants and a strong, sedating anti-anxiety med, so i dont drink at all. the last time i had a drink  was a rum & diet coke... in 2001! wow..... long time...

But I dont miss it at all. All the best, youve been given great advice already.

Hi Gem,

I hope you're feeling well now. I had some bad experiences during the years I took ADs, even having one or two drinks. (Notice I said experiences,'d think I would have figured it out the first time!) The doctor I had at the time told me he thought a couple of drinks now and again would be fine.....but he was wrong! Please don't blame yourself about not you know, and you can avoid it happening again! :-) Take care, and hang in there until that upcoming appointment.
