I just posted this in the panic attacks section, but since I also suffer from depression, I thought it was relevant here too and I would love to share ideas.
Here is what has helped me:
Byron Katie's "The Work" -  WONDERFUL!!!!! smilewinkgrin smilewinkgrin smilewinkgrin
Distraction and Exercise. :-)
Reading Patrick Holford's "Optimum Nutrition for the Mind"
- I am amazed by how much fish oils have helped me calm down.
The Option Institute.
Reading Eckhart Tolle.
Reiki and complimentary therapies.
The Panicaway Website.

Welcome to HealingWell.  It is good to see you have found the tools to help your through Anxiety and Depression.
For myself therapy was key.
Also joining this online support group.

I would have to say therapy, taking abilify and living in the moment. I have fibromyalgia. Since I have had it, I haven't been capable of worrying so much about the future. So out of a bad thing came something good. Living in the moment. Also The New Mood Therapy by Dr. David Burns MD.

excellent post patriciaryan. me, poetry, meditation, music-music-music!!! all books on buddhism and esp from h.h. the Dalai Lama. seeing mydoc is a good tonic, we have our therapy sessions, where i make him laugh, a lot and him me!! with loving compassion, jamie. ps. i hope other members will include their inspirations as well. great idea with this topic. jamie. smilewinkgrin

-DX:Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, CFS, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Sinusitis, TMJ, Endometriosis,PCOS, Reactive Arthritis, Anemia, Chemical/Noise/Light sensitivity, Trichotilomania, OCD, SMD. GERD, IBS.
-Meds: Zoloft 150mg. Xanax 4mg. Prescription pain meds/anti inflammatories.
-Multiple surgeries- I bear the scars of my poor physical health.
-Age:29. AP first DX @ 10. Fibro etc DX @14.
