I'm new to chat forums for depression.  I believe that all of you will be able to help me get over my current "speed bumps" and help me get on track again.
I have suffered from depression for many, many years and also bipolar disorder.  During this past year I lost my father in a three time period.  Many times, I am completely devasted at my loss. I try to be as supportive to my mother and my sister as possible but it seems they support me instead.
To pile a couple of more things onto the "bump" my medication is a complete mess and I'm also going through (sorry guys) the "change of life" that we women go through.
Right now I'm a complete mess and I could use some outside words of encouragement right now.

Hi selket,

Welcome to HealingWell and the depression forum.

I am sorry that you are feeling so bad and that your medication is all messed up. It sounds like your doctor is not listening to you at this time. I would keep telling him whenever it gets bad. If he/she doesn't respond, I would start looking for another doctor. Or get a psychiatrist. They are so helpful. I see one and I see a psychologist too. They seem to keep me straight. I think it would benefit you also.

Learn to love yourself. Treat yourself good because you deserve that. You are a special person and remember that. And I am sure that you can do most anything that you put your mind to. So I would start workng on getting some medical attention for your depression one way or another. Maybe your doctor could recommend a therapist or pdoc for you.

Best wishes for feeling better.

Keep posting.

I am going to give your thread a title.

Hugs, Karen
