Hello everyone,
I'm new to this site and this is my first time doing anything like this. I am usually a really private person but I guess spilling my guts to the internet could be good for me? hahaha anyways I'm 20 years old and for the last 5-6 years my family has gone through ALOT! My mom and dad raised me very conservatively till I was around 14. I used to go to church every Sunday and if I were to go to a friends house my parents would need to meet the parents first, this kind of parenting continued till we moved to a new city. The house we moved into was the first house my parents had bought, instead of renting. This house was supposed to be the answer to my parents dream, a nice big house with lots of room and they could do anything they desired to it. Anyways around everything went alright till Jr. High around age 13 or 14. My parents would lock themselves in their room and wouldn't come out for weeks sometimes, I didn't understand it they used to be so strict and in my business now I was luck to see them in my own house once a week. Eventually we had a few "ROOMMATES" come live with us. After a while one of the guys FREAKED out on me when I knocked on his door. He opened his door yelling and screaming that hes trying to sleep and he's coming down like everyone else in the house should be doing. That day I talked to my older brother who had just found out himself that my parents had become     . I was about 16 when i realized what had been happening the past few years. My world seemed to crumble how could this happen to the my idols? We were such a strong family and my parents seemed to be invincible. anyways ever since I've had trouble functioning and I get depressed on occasion and I feel like I've become a much meaner person, I want the old me back the nice funny carefree me. My mom moved out becuase she cheated on my dad with some other meth head. My dad finally kicked his habbit within the last year, so i still live with him but he's a totally diffrent person he just works and then sits in his room all day watching t.v. and does it all over again the next day.
P.S. I also have a little sister who's 17 who just recently has tried to  and got a D.U.I

I don't really know what to do or how to deal with all these things, any advice!? plz

Hi Jlembeck,
I am sorry for what you had to go through.  This had to be such a shock to you. I want to ask you all kinds of questions but according to forum rules we aren't suppose to discuss illegal drugs, that is why I have to edit your post.  But I want you to feel welcome here, I am sure that this has effected you in many ways.
When you get mean, do you get mean to other people, or with yourself?  I would highly recommend therapy for you.  There must be many issues that you need to discuss with somebody.  Somebody professional that is.  But in the mean time, please keep posting, we will help you in anyway that we can.
Hugs, Karen

When I get mean I get mean with everyone who I come across and myself, and I would love therapy but don't know where to start or whats a good place to go to and I don't have any money for that kind of thing.

your general practioner for a start, this way you can be assessed appropriatley. your gp can refer you to services that will be of benefit to you, also they can recommend certain professionals that provide the services you require. all the best, keep strong. jamie
