Hi Everyone, My surgery is over, I am home now recovering. Had a set back right after I got out of the hospital and had to go back as I got a bad infection in my incision. Dr. says this is common with colon surgery. The 1st 2 weeks after were pretty rough, I just felt so awful and tired and weak. I had to force myself to eat. Have to eat lots of protein as that helps to heal and gain strength. But I have lost 24 lbs. which I am happy about and I am sure that zapped my strength. I am starting to feel much better and I can see that I will return to my old self in about 6-8 weeks. I sure hope I never have to have this happen again so will be careful with my diet - no nuts, seeds, popcorn. Can you believe that the small seeds on strawberries are a big culprit? I will get used to all of this I know. Tomorrow is my birthday and my boys are going to buy king crab legs as that is one of my favorites.  Don't feel well enough to go out but we will celebrate in Dec. as my oldest has his birthday then. Just wanted to post and let you know I am still kicking and am in good spirits.  Would love to hear from any and all. And thank you all for giving me such wonderful support before I went to the hospital. You are all such great and caring friends.
Much love,

Hi Aurora,
It is good to see you back on the forum.  I am glad that you are feeling better now.  Sorry about the set back, but glad that you got rid of that infection.  Healing from surgery is hard sometimes.  It always was for me, I took longer than normal.  I think it is because it is such a shock to the body.
I hope things are good for you otherwise.  Not too bad here.  The weather is suppose to straighten up here for a few days and we are suppose to have warmer temperatures and sunshine.  I am looking forward to that.
Keep us posted on what is going on.  Make sure you give yourself lots of pampering and rest.  You will be back to normal in no time.
Take care,
Hugs, Karen
