Hi Sammie,

Welcome to the depression forum.  I am so glad that you have joined us.

It sounds like you have been dealing with severe depression for a long time.  I hope that the ECT is helping you.  We do have a new member that was asking about ECT about a week ago.  Hopefully they will come back and read your post.  I am glad that it is helping you.  It sounds hard though.

I am glad that you have joined us.  I just said that didn't I?  But you have come to a good place.  Everybody here is very kind and compassionate.  You are among people who do understand.

Keep posting and keep us up on how you are doing.  You are not alone anymore.

Hugs, Karen

i too have had ECT. 2004. 6 TREATMENTS, it saved my life, also i am resistant, esp with meds and a dx of mdd. been on the med-merry go round for over 20 years. 20 public admissions, 8 private, these were 3+ months long. i also did a inpatient 6 month program for people with severe borderline personality disorder as well. welcome, am here for you. i alsi know of somefriends who have maintenance ECT as well. my ECT was dome unilateral, i too for a couple of weeks was fuzzy and had some minor residual memory loss. it all kicked in around 3 months later and was better for nearly a year. thx 4 posting. with healing compassion, jamie.
