Hi,
I took Pristiq(50mg) for 8 months, and was feeling great. My anxiety increased, due to a move and job change, and was given 100mg of pristiq, along with tramadol after a surgery. After a week of being on the two medications, I had a seizure. I stopped taking the tramadol, but continued my original dose of 50mg Pristiq - a month later, I had another seizure.

After countless test and doctors(i flew out of state to CA) It was concluded that my seizures are due to combo of the two drugs, which lowered my seizure tolerance - ect... BUT it was due to the interaction of the two drugs. I can no longer take either of the two drugs - so I was given Prozac.

Has anyone else had this problem?
Shouldn't my doctor has told me or warned me about this?
My pharmacy told me nothing when I filled the two medications together?

I have found LOTS of warnings and precautions online regarding the mixture of the two.

Confused and concerned

yes your doc should have advised you, if not your chemist. this is poor form in my book. have you experienced any form of seizures in the past? (epilepsy) this may have caused a biochemical trigger, well the combo for sure, would also check if you are predisposed to it, possible genetic factors. hoping you settle on the prozac. take care. with compassion, jamie. ps, hi killy, i always forget to say hi as i get busy typing and forget!! welcome to the forum. thx for sharing this, very important to highlight things of this nature. sorry that it happened. hoping you are feeling better.
