Hello Everyone ...I need help ...urgently...before this thing rotts my brains.

I am new here. I have never tried anything like this before ...But I didnt know where to get help.

I am a 21 year old young girl and I have suffered a terrible childhood. My mom passes away and my dad treated us like garbage. I have never had anyone to talk to at home and become very shy and an introvert.

I have a speech problem...I cant seem to form coherent sentences in a go ...or speak smoothly without saying something utterly stupid or irrelevant...to hide my speech disability...I try avoiding making conversations and even taking part in them....I sometimes feel I am too slow for everyone and other times feel I am just dumb.

I had an interview yesterday and I was grilled for an hour by two very clever gentlemen. I was so nervous ...I couldnt even answer simple questions like "what is your hobby?" or "Tell us something about yourself".

My self esteem/ self confidence is ZERO.

I have been feeling horrible since my interview as I just feel so embarrassed...I cant seem to concentrate on anything else...And I am a student ...so I cant get professional help since I dont earn anything as yet...and my dad wont give a darn....I need help. What can I do.

Hi C,
Welcome to healingwell. I am so sorry you have suffered such a great loss. Bravo for staying in school. Let's see if we can get you some help. There are usually counseling places in school, or you might even try a school social worker, the school doctor or nurse might be able to help. There is also usually some sort of free mental health care in most communities as well. I think it might be time talk about getting a some help with your speech problem too. School is a good place to get help with that. There are usually also places (like a career and employment services) that can help with your resume and interview techniques, for example the school I went to does practice interviews.
Just cause you did not have a great interview do not mean anything about you. Everyone needs practice when interviewing, and I assure you everyone messes up.
So please go do something to treat yourself for being brave enough to even try.
Hugs,
Navy

Hello Critique!!

I think since you have been a shy and reserved in nature, you find it hard to speak in front of more people or crowd..
Practice speaking in front of mirror.
Don't feel complex about yourself, no one is best and wonderful as yourself, have that kind of thought in your mind.. don't panic or feel shy, whatever you do, do it boldly.. whether it is right or wrong.
While you move with others feel that you are the queen.. always be the first to start the conversation with your friends or others. Don't wait for others to talk to you.
Follow these, you will surely see a difference in yourself.
Keep going..
All the best!!

Dear Critique , there is help available for you at no cost , firstly with a school counselor , and secondly with your local hospital or clinic . You can find help online as well , like you did coming here , good job by the way . You've nothing to be ashamed of , you've done nothing wrong , most speech impediments can be worked on and improved if not cured .Don't give up , use your computer search for , ''free counseling'' or free or low cost therapy , I'm sure you'll find something ,.You've shown great courage reaching out for help , thats wonderful ! So please don't stop , you are worth every effort you can make !!! Best Of Luck Mikel

HIV+ , Need hip replacement , have a cellulitus like condition on leg that is stubborn , using anti-biotics to try to get rid of but its stubborn .Started eating completley healthy juicing every day , no sugar , taking vitiamins and anti-oxidents , virigin coconut oil ,only veggies and fruits mostly , no red meat .feel better.Meds:viracept truvada, indothemicin. Pain from hip and leg use cane or rolator to walk .

Thank you everyone ...I want to talk to a speech pathologist...I research and take down the contact details of speech pathologists in my city ...but when its time to make the call...I think twice... I have never spoken about this with anyone else face to face....I feel more comfortable taking about this here ...But I want to do something about it... and I do realize that I am the only one who can make a change ...and its high time I start now.

Hi there,

You have gotten some great advice from our wonderful members. I suggest you be proactive about this and follow the advice that you got.

I hope that everything works out for you. And remember your boyfriend's problems are his, not yours. you can suggest help for him such as a doctor or a counselor, but you can't fix him yourself. Keep working on you. You are a special person, remember that.

Hugs, Karen
