Hi
New member here. I have been reading over your comments about Pristiq and am still looking for some info. I have been on it for about 3 weeks, in addition to Wellbutrin (which I have been on forever). I have been very sleepy, tired, and have been having headaches. Then yesterday, I experienced severe vertigo (dizziness, room spinning, couldn't walk straight). Called Dr. and now i am taking it every 3 days, but i am worried that maybe i am not a candidate for this drug. Has anyone else had this experience?

Hi Donnabella,

Welcome to the HealingWell Depression Forum!

I have been taking pristiq for close to a year now and have had no trouble with it.  I guess I have been lucky with meds.  I was on effexor for years and never had a problem.

It might just not be the right medication for you.  But hang in there.  Stick with what the doctor says, maybe you just need to start slow.  For me the transition from effexor to pristiq went rather well.  I went really slow though.

I hope that this med works for you.  Good luck.  Keep us posted as to how you are doing.

Hugs, Karen

hi donnabella. maybe your s/e are taking a little longer to subside. pristiq is a very good main-line a/d. i used it for awhile but it didn't have enough bite for me. currently using cymbalta, 120mg. the s/e when i staeted this was cruel, albeit no probs now. sadly most have s/e, most subside quickly, but yours are in a more serious catergory. agree with karen to follow your dr's advice. keep well. here for you. with compassion,

the mad professor,

jamie. ps, welcome 2 the forum.
