I am 16 years old and am suddenly experiencing incredible sadness that i've never felt even in situations of family death. I feel sadness physically! Through my body, it's strange. I can't eat, sleep or even concentrate in a conversation. I feel like I am dreaming all the time. Or the feeling you get when you have had a bad dream and you feel strange the next day. I feel sick all the time as if i've heard some bad news. I can't control my terrifying thought and visions of death. Of me growing old and dying. I don't know if this feeling is because i am starting college and am scared of being an adult. I am currently taking antibiotics. Could they be effecting my hormones or chemical imbalances? I need to know how to control my thoughts and get back to normal.

Hi there,

Welcome to the HealingWell Depression forum. It sounds to me like you are experiencing some anxiety. I don't know if the antibiotics could have anything to do with your moods. That would be best asked to a counselor or a doctor. And I do recommend seeing one of the two if not both. It does sound like you have something going on right now. I don't know if it is depression or anxiety. But there is something definately going on.

Please see somebody soon.

Hugs, Karen

hi there,

i recently just lost my gran and i know exactaly how you feel but there is defently light at the ed of the tunnel. now if you ask anyone on this earth if they have has fears of dying being old and your just never going to be here again everyone thinks about it at some stage of there life now im a year older than you nd i have thought about getting old an theres no turing back:). i went through a stage of not eating not sleeping and being ery withdrawn from my famil and friends. including my fiance. soo your no alone there. you are just a normal human being. and every human being have unique qualites o handeling situations like this correct me if im wong but this most common in signs on and anxiety. like the fear of the moster under the bed when you are younger the feeling fade and passes like this will. so my advise would be to do some self research on your tablets. speek to your gp about coming off them or side affects that may be causing you to feel like this. if im honest there is no way of controling your thoughts and dont block them out just think of other things and you see it is just a natural process of life its hard and very scary. but you are soo young and that is soo ar away. so enjoy your life while you are young and active. you will soon stop feeling the fear.

I can relate to your obsessive thoughts.  This has happened to me also.  Just know that thoughts are things that just past by your mind.  They only have value if we give them energy.  Do your best to devalue thoughts that cause unhappiness.  Just let they go by like a cloudy in the sky.
Yes, our bodies  live and die... don't believe you have the answer to the next chapter after the body passes.   We human know a lot, but we also don't know much about the spiritual world.   Only the ego can see a sad ending, the spirit alway sees peace and love.
Pray... you can see thing differently,  do not over value your thoughts.  Notice this moment...  I'm breathing, I'm sitting in front of my computer.  Things are calm.  All the noise is coming from a restless mind.  The mind is not real its a day dreamer.   Wake up and be.  Take a walk and feel God's presents walking with you.  God is always with you even if you are lost in thoughts (like most humans are).
Be Good,
