For now. My moods change constantly. I am so very thankful for finding HealingWell....I've been so ashamed for so long and I finally found a place that I can come to and share my feelings with people and no one is here to judge me or call me crazy or look at me as if Im a danger to myself, my family and society. I've never really been able to communicate my deepest darkest moments of depression. I tried once in Junior High School and the counselor looked at me as if I was some sort of freak. She seemed VERY uncomfortable. I went to a private Christian school and she told me that I was weak and that I didnt have faith. That only the FATHLESS believed in depression....I was a child then, and believed her statement to be true...Now I I know that that was a lie.

Krissy,

I understand what you are saying re private religious schools.  I, too, was taught to turn the other cheek,  always volunteer first,  give until it hurts etc and I grew up with those beliefs which I carried into adulthood believing that if I did not put everyone else first I was not a good person.  Through therapy I have learned that it is OK to love myself and be good to myself first if I expect to be able to help others.

So put  your health first and keep on moving forward one step at a time.

Happy Friday to you.
