Welcome to the HealingWell Depression forum. You are not stupid or worthless. It sounds like you are trying too hard. We often do that. We get nervous when doing things and over think them or try too hard. Try to relax.
Are you going to any type of counseling? It really helps. Especially when your family said things to bring you down. This tends to stick with us and it takes a lot of work to get rid of these negative thoughts. The same goes for good things. You could write some affirmation notes around the house, like "I am a good person", "I can do this", "I am special". Eventually you believe these things, just like you believed the bad things.
