I have had a hard run with depression, it just des not seem to go away.  I have tried a ton of different drugs none of whih have helped currently.  I'm at a loss, I really need this Lamtical to help.  Anyone have any things to say about Lamtical and hard to cure depression?

Hello and I to have experinced the same as you and really gone through many AD meds.  Right now I am on Effexor but it was not holding on it's own so I finally agreed to give Lamictal a chance.  I am up to 50 mg per day and it is working.  I will be at 100Mg next Friday and I expect the therapuetic effect to be even better.

So far this drug has work better then anything I have been on over the past 5 years.  I have major depressive disorder.  So please wean onto the medication slowly and give this one a chance -  it has really balanced my mood and the constant feeling of sadness.

Kindly,
Kitt

I believe Swimmer89, that celexa is an ssni. Like an ssri. But more norepinephrin in it. It is like effexor and lexapro. In the same family. It is an anti depressant with norepinephrin uptaker in it. I guess that is how it goes. Where the others work more with the seratonin.

I hope that helps some.

i found ECT when i had it in 04, the best for resistant type depression. 6 treatments in all. TMS is being shown to be productive, but dosen't have the nuts that ECT has. remember that ECT is the last bastian, but darn effective...............and a life saver. thats why i had it. no sleep, no food, no nothing -thus it brought me back. i am a firm advocate of ECT. jamie. get better soon. with compassion, jamie.

I'm up t 25mg of Lamtical and I'm still feeling really down.  I'm trying to hang on there but am having a very hard time.  I just wish everone would stop telling me it' mind over manner, cause I feel it is not at this point.  I just need some strength to get through this.

I'm now up to 37.5mg and woke up this morning with terrible anxiety, now I'm not sure if it's the Lamtical dose going up and my body adjusting or the fact that the dr also has now put me on Remeron to sleep, only been on that for a few days at 7.5 mg. I do find it helps me sleep but I wake several times a night. My docotr has not called me back in 2 days.

I'm on 50 and noticing a bit of difference in my depression, the anxiety seems to go away a bit after ease dose increase, the only other issue is that I now have acne, I feel like a teenager again.  But if that is the only thing I'm in it for the long haul, I hope everyone has a merry x-mas

I am glad that the medication is working for you. You can take meds for the acne. So that should help. I hope that you have a wonderful holiday too. Thanks for posting your experiences. Have a good one!
