MrsCongleton,

You say you had a girl crush. And I take it you are a female. I just want to understand where you are coming from.

Have you discussed your issues with your psychiatrist? I think it is time to lay it all out on the table so that he/she can help you.

I see you are on medications, you might need an adjustment. There is hope for you. Believe me. Keep posting and let us know how you are doing. I hope that things get better for you.

Hugs, Karen

MrsCongleton,

Sometimes we progress with our mental health conditions and the dx changes. You probably were add at one time and then experienced anxiety and progressed to a mood disorder. We change throughout life. Some get better and some get worse. I hope that your psychiatrist works with you to get a proper diagnosis and that things work out well for you. Keep on pushing for information. That is how we learn how to cope with our problems. Keep posting too. Coming here does good for people. We share our experiences and learn from eachother.

Best wishes

Hugs, Karen

Good Afternoon,

I am sure you know of the medications for ADD but I am going to post them here as perhaps others may not know all of what is available. Looks like you only tried one of the medications available.
Psychostimulant medications, including  Ritalin, Metadate, and Concerta, the amphetamine class  which includes   Adderall.  Strattera, marketed as a "non-stimulant," (although its mechanism of action and potential side effects are essentially equivalent to the "psychostimulant" medications.

I know it must be frustrating to you to not have a diagnosis confirmed.  Many members have a dual diagnosis - I have Depression and Anxiety which often go together.

Your diet can affect your mental health.   Depression, anxiety, attention deficient disorder, compulsive disorders, and other disorders of mood are affected by the health of your nervous system. Your nervous system is composed of cells no different than other cells in your body, and every cell in your body depends on food for providing it with essential nutrients. In this way, poor nutrition can cause poor mental health.

It's Genetic has provided you with some great information.  :-)

Also I feel like seeing your therapist once every 2 months is not enough.  I hope your new mental health center will have more to offer you.  Stick with us as we care and we are here to support.
