Happy New Year everyone~
Well it's a new year and a new chance for good things to happen, right?

I went to bed on New Years Eve at about 9pm and woke up about 12:02, got something to drink, checked on my son and went back to bed.  This year was ok because my son spent it with me.  He was disappointed though that he didn't stay awake.  He said last year was
great because his sister was here and that made him happy.

So many reasons to be glad that it is a new year.  My thoughts however go dim when I go to the stores and see the Valentine's day stuff out.  It doesn't even effect me anymore that it comes and goes because like all other things, I have become so numb to anything that causes emotion in me.  Just another day in my life.

I have been without any other meds since my doc took me off the ones I had.  I don't have any energy and hope that something new happens with my health.

I do really miss being happy!!!

Well then get out there and make yourself happy! You need to meet new people. Take a class at a community college just for fun, something you enjoy. Maybe cooking or painting. Join a book club.

Talk to your son and daughter! You have two kids. Maybe ask them if they wanna do something maybe go to a theme park with them. Move around, get your heart rate up. Valentine's day is depressing for some but you have 2 beautiful kids to love. Just look at all the wonderful things you have. There are people who would give anything to have that.

You have a roof over your head, you eat three times a day and you have access to doctors who can help you. You sleep in a warm bed every night and you can shower with hot water every day. You have a lot to be happy about. Love isn't just between a man and a woman. There are wayyy more beautiful things than just that. Keep your head up!. Things will look up on their own. Trust.

Hi teresa,

Thanks for posting. You will be happy again. This is going to take time. You have been greiving for a long time. Things are bound to turn around. I am glad that you celebrated New Year's Eve with your son even though you both fell asleep. I made it till midnight but went to bed shortly after. Take care, keep posting when you can.

Seems like your everyday is boring to you, and frustrating. Why don't you try doing something exciting. Watch "Yes Man" and if you've seen it, try it! "Yes Man" is a film with Jim Carrey in it who is bored of his everyday life and doesn't grasp oppertunities. Try being a "yes" girl for a week =] see what things you end up getting up too! Be random and experimental, join a gym, go to a yoga class, or try a dancing class, like Salsa. =] What I'm trying to say is maybe you need a change, like a new hobbie or a new activity.

Thanks all~
I do have a lot to be happy for and I am truly blessed to some degree because of my 3 children and grandchild but having depression takes everything out of you even when you try to be at your best.  Having the depression that is treatment-resistant is the worst illness in the world.  Actually reading the last couple posts to me made me exhausted just reading them.  Dont get me wrong alot of you are new to our forum and dont know how deep my depression really is!  I DO TRULY APPRECIATE YOUR INPUT THOUGH, DONT THINK FOR A MINUTE I DONT.  You are all angels to me, trust me:)

I went down to Verizon and set up a plan for internet.  Cost me more than I really can spend but then again you cant take it with you right?

I am trying to do better but it just is really hard sometimes.

Hi Teresa,

Sorry I haven't written much. But I am so excited that you are going to get internet. I had verizon, but they switched to frontier. But I think it is still verizon internet. My phone is through them too. Not too much problems with them. You will be so happy to have it, then you can get on at anytime. Instead of having to go to the library. I am glad that you are doing this for yourself.

I hope that you feel better soon. Keep us posted.

Hugs, Karen

Hi Teresa,

It snowed here most of the day, but not really hard. There may be a front coming in with many inches of snow. If we are lucky, it will go below us. Hard to say here. When a front hits the lakes it can do anything.

Try not to think about Valentine's. I know, kind of hard to do with it all over the place. And it is a romantic holiday. But maybe buy some candy for your kids or grandkids and leave it at that. You can make it. You are much stronger than you give yourself credit for. We will be thinking of you. We will have a Valentine's party on here or something.

Take care, glad to see you on again.

Hugs, Karen

GB~
A valentines party on HW?  Sounds awesome!  Only you could have come up with that,LOL.  Can we exchange valentines like we used to do in elementary school?  Believe it or not, that is one of the fondest memories I have of my childhood.  Walking around the classroom sticking the valentines in the boxes we made at home, excited about what valentines you would get from everyone!  That just gave me a good feeling, thank you!!!!!!

I still give my children cards because I always have that is how it has always been.  For me, valentines day is a day for people you truly love and are grateful for, not to mention the pink lights, hearts and angels.

I guess my valentines day means a little something different that is why it has always had a special meaning to it, although the meaning of it was made true several years ago.

It is snowing here as we are getting the front that you mentioned.  I probably wont leave my house today either.

That does sound like fun doesn't it? I am sorry that you are getting the bad weather. So far we haven't gotten hit. I feel fortunate for that. Hopefully it will stay south of us, but you never can tell.

I hope that you have a good day today. You are so sweet Teresa. I remember the valentines when we were kids in school.

Have a great day!!1

Valentine's Day can be for anything you want it to be for. My dog is my valentine! He's a chihuahua and I buy him a stuffed toy for Valentine's Day.

I think all the holidays have changed over the years. They are too commercial now. They lost their true meaning.

Holidays are days to be spent with friends, family and your pets.

That is like me, I love my dogs. I have a german shepherd and an australian cattledog. The cattle dog is brindle, so I think she has some pittbull in her. But is built like the aussie. I love them both.

Hi all~
Just got back from my docs.  I am having a sleep study done next week.  Once again weird things with my health.  Gained 18lbs in 4 weeks, 210/102bp and my insurance dragging their feet with my meds.  I dont know how much more I can take, I know I say that but I am getting so tired of this.

Wow Teresa,

that is a high bp. I hope that you can take something to get it down. I wonder why you are gaining weight. Do you think it is meds? Or are you taking them? With your insurance dragging their feet, it must not be easy for you. I am sorry about that. You need your meds. I am lucky I got insurance from my late husband, but the copays are high. It is better than nothing.

Keep posting and take care.

Hugs, Karen

I know, my bp has been really high for sometime, I have actually had it this high for years so I quit worrying about it.  Too many other things going on.

Good luck with your sleep study Teresa. I doubt that I could sleep at one, but you never know. I hope that you get some answers with this.

Have a good night...
