The latest snow is scheduled to begin in about an hour and will continue tonight into Tuesday afternoon, having turned to ice.  This is going to be a stay-at-home system, for sure.

I plan to pick up my medications in about an hour before the snow begins, knowing that I'm going to be snowed in until probably Saturday.  It's time to get out the crockpot and make some homemade vegetable soup with a side of cornbread and maybe even breaking the diet with a little ice cream or snow cream.

If I weren't a little concerned about being able to get out by Friday so
that I might get a permanent, I would feel completely relaxed being
at home alone during this event, and would begin knitting again for
kids who, by the way, will be turning my driveway again into an ice rink.  I don't think I'll foil them by adding salt to my driveway today; they'll find a way to use the lawn, I guess, to have their fun.  I just can't bring myself to try to deliberately stop them.  They need the fun time.

I think I'll start a pair of mittens; but then, goodness, the doctors
won't be in their offices I think for emergency treatment with this
snow storm driving its way northeast.

Here's hoping we keep our current and heat.

All of you stay warm, comfortable and even happy as we weather
this winter.  My daughter was ready for spring after the last one
on Christmas Day.

Take care,

Thanks for the warning,

I was suppose to go to town today but I didn't. I will go tomorrow if the weather isn't bad. I am not sure if we are going to get hit by the front coming in or not. I hope not. We have had our share, but then again, who hasn't?

Sounds like a plan with the knitting. You are really getting into it and that is so cool. I am thinking about crochetting a scarf for something to do. Easy enough. I think. I don't know if I will just use double crochet or make a shell stitch. The double crochet would be easier. lol... But the other would be pretty. Maybe it is called a scallop. I can't remember. Not even sure if I remember how to do it and how many stitches to start out with. Oh well, it will still be fun. Now if I have a nice color yarn. I think I have baby yarn. OH well...

I hope that you have a great day. Sounds so cozy with the vegetable soup. I took chili out of the freezer for today. Not been too enthusiastic to cook the last couple of days. I have frozen chicken noodle too that is really good. So we aren't lacking for food. Just got to thaw it out.

Take care It's Genetic. Have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Karen

Would you believe it's 9:34 P.M. here and we haven't had enough snow to cover the lawn! Boy, the weather meterologists really missed the call for this area big time! Other areas had some, but we've yet to see it.

I noticed on the way home from the pharmacy today that the Canadian geese which usually migrate to warmer climates at this time of the year were circling this afternnon with two of the leaders breaking rank and flying in different directions defeating any kind of formation they might have wanted to establish; it was chaotic. Usually that's a sign that the birds may not be getting their brains adjusted to atmospheric pressure. I hope it doesn't mean that the weather is gearing up tomorrow to hit us with a real blast of ice. (More difficult than snow, as you know.) If I see them in V-formation and flying south, I'll know the weather won't be too bad. If we're going to have ice I'd like to fly with them to Florida.

Keep warm,

Thanks hon,

I have to venture out today, but out weather isn't going to be too bad, I don't think. We'll see.

Hugs, Karen

PS. I am up in the middle of the night with painful hips. That is why this is short. Going back to bed soon.

8+ inches had to get the tall snow boots out and every piece of metal in my body lets me know that we have a negative temp.

Navy,

It sounds like you have a lot of pain too. I am so sorry for that. I hope that you can survive this weather. I shot you a short email. I hope that you get it. Thanks for all of your posts on the forum. You are a wonderful member and moderator.

I hope that you are feeling well, I was worried until I saw you posting again. Was going to email you, but didn't want to bother you if you weren't feeling well. We all have our problems, that is why we are here.

Take care my friend.

Hugs, Karen
