I have depression. I am so stressed out lately that it has kept me from enjoying life in any and every way. There is soo much going through my head I just need to talk to someone. I've had depression for about 2 months and it's gotten worse and worse. I recently had a dream where I went nowhere in life and ended up firing because I never learned to cope with being depressed. I haven't told my parents yet because I want someone elses opinion first. So tomorrow I have a meeting with my school guidance counsellor to ask him what to do. I never really opened up to well anyone before and this guy doesn't seem like he's the friendliest perso too. He's also our assistant principle. But I need help so he's my only choice right now. So my question is how do I approach this?

write dowm what is happening, and any triggers. what things are causing you to feel down, along with anything else that is relevant. explain your depressive situation, what is happening, coping and not coping/ advise of the sleep issues, this is very common with depression. be as honest as possible.

keep posting, if ok pls let us know how it went. with compassion, jamie

I agree with Jamie,

write down everything that is going on. Otherwise you will forget to tell him. I am sorry he isn't the friendliest person, but he might be much different in counseling. If not, I would check with mental health about it and see a counselor there. If he is your guidance counselor, he will be able to help you there too. With school issues I mean. Keep posting here and know that we all care.

Take care, let us know what happens.
