Have you seen a doctor? You could go on some meds and not have to take a break. Talking to a counselor would help too. These are two important things to get you better.
I am sorry that you are having such a hard time. Do you know what is making you so sad? It could be depression rearing it's ugly head and I do advise talking to a professional to get some help. And support.
Taking a break is fine, but you still need to find out what is causing you to feel so sad. It is work, but it is worth it. I hope that you feel better soon. Keep posting and let us know how you are doing.
