I'm not really sure what to do. I'm depressed beyond measure. I'm 15 and everyone around me seems not to notice, they think im fine. I wake up every morning with a headache. All i want to do is sleep and it seems like the world is caving in. No one cares about me and i cant do this anymore. Its like life is to hard to live. I would never hurt myself, i just couldn't, but i cant be in this place anymore. I feel like im being buried alive and I don't know what to do. Someone please tell me what to do.

Hi Misstoria,

I'm sorry you feel so bad.  I understand because I have been there before. Please don't expect people to be mind readers & know what you are going through.  They may just be thinking it is something minor like just growing through a bad day or something.

You should really find at least 1 person that you can confide in that you feel would be helpful to you.  Is there a counselor at school that you can talk to & let them know how you are feeling?  A lot of times they have very excellent resources to help students out, especially for things like this.

Try opening yourself up to an adult. Do you have a favorite aunt or something like that who you can share with?

If none of these options are good for you, set up an appointment with your doctor to discuss your symptoms and how difficult it is for you.

Keep us posted.  But you have to make the first move to reach out, okay?

agree with sukay, esp the doc, thus if he / she feels you need assistance you can be refered to a compassionate person. also, your doc may talk 2 you about medication. hoping you feel better soon. depression sucks. with healing compassion, jamie.

Agreed, you really do need to let someone know how you are feeling, its the first step to getting yourself back on the right track. Have you let your family know at all about whats going on? I know its very hard to let these things out to family, it was extremely hard for me too but it needs to be done at some point so they can help you. Try the school counselor first if you have one, these are the type of things they are there for. Maybe have them break the ice with your family?

Talking to a school counselor can be helpful too. Coming here helps also. You took a big step by posting. We all hope that you feel better soon. But please do talk to somebody. I highly suggest your school counselor. Then maybe a counselor with mental health. Depression is nothing to sneeze at and I feel that counseling would truly help you. Keep posting and know that we all care.

Please talk to someone, you say no one knows how you feel, you have to tell them. Your Mum, Dad, Grandma, Uncle, Aunt, school counselor, a mental health therapist, your doctor....there has to be someone you can talk to. There is help out there and no shame in asking for it and getting it. My youngest son was like you, he hid his depression from us all until he couldn't live with it any longer. Please reach out and get help.

Glad to see your taking others advice; i.e., doctors and counselors. Sometimes these things can be chemical. That's why its important to see a professional. Word of mouth can be useful in seeking out professional care, that's why it's good to talk with a counselor or close friend no getting the specs on who is good in these fields.

i came from a similar background, emtoins just were not talked about in my family. Try the counselor first, once you get comfortable with YOU then you can talk to the family. Took me 6-7 months of therapy before i told my family about it. Then again i'm older (not too much older 29) and don't see my family on a daily basis.
