I feel as if I've been dealing with depression since as far back as 5 years old (21-currently). But in the past month or so I feel like I've snapped. I am so weepy all the time, no motivation, so angry...the list goes on. My boyfriend seems to think that I need to just snap out of it. I cannot. I went to the doctor and got prescribed some medication. I'm just not sure what to expect. Has anyone else just snapped and felt like they were going to pull their hair out? Like I've said, I've felt this way before, but not this extreme. No one seems to understand, so I have no one to talk to about it. Thanks :)

Hi Misssyy,

Welcome to the HealingWell Depression forum. I have been where you are. It takes awhile for the medication to start helping but sometimes you feel better soon. I think it would be wise to look into counseling too. It really helps. I go all the time, and take meds. I have for years. If you can find the right med or combo, you are fortunate. Sometimes it is trial and error. Some get lucky right off the bat. I hope that you are one of the fortunate ones.

This is a hard time of year especially if you live in the north. If that is the case, I would recommend talking to your doctor about vitamin D3. It really does help. Also eat right and get plenty of rest. I hope that you feel better soon. Keep posting.

Hugs, Karen

Welcome to HW!

Yup i been there.  Just one day my anxiety was just full blown nuts (depression followed).  I always had some anxiety but recently it just went haywire.  Anyway, stick with the meds, they do take a little while to really get you going ( MIN 3-4 weeks), took me more like 8 to really feel all the effects.  Might help to get into talk therapy, one of the best things i haev ever done.  Hope you fel better
