sorry jamie :( you did what's best for you and that's what's important. at least you are strong enough to realize that the best thing isn't always what makes you feel the best - a lot of people overlook that. best wishes jamie!

Jamie,

I am so sorry that you are ending your relationship. I know that you have given it your all. I hope that the two of you can remain friends though. Try to, if you can. Keep fond memories of her. You learned from this, I guess. There must be something constructive that you got out of this relationship. I am really sorry that her parents came in the way and the carer. Hopefully in time she will learn to live her own life. I know it was a hard situation and you gave it your all.

Know that we are all here for you. Take care my friend.

Hugs, Karen

jamie,

Let yourself feel the sadness and let out the pain.  You have worked hard on maintaining this relationship but I think you are making the right choice.

One thing that is very important in dealing with the depression brought on by a break-up  is do not be afraid to talk as your feelings do need to come out.

WE are here  for you my kind and gentle friend.

Give yourself time to think about it and come up with a plan. Then you can sit down and discuss how it isn't working. That you can't be yourself around her parents being there and interfering. And the carer. That they don't want her to have a relationship with you and that you feel unwanted and uncomfortable about it.

Maybe you two can remain friends. Maybe it will take this for her to learn to make her own decisions if she is capable. She has probably depended on others so much that she doesn't know how. Eitherway, take your time. Wait until you know exactly what you want to say.
