hello im new here on this forum and i just took a little test to see if im depressed or not
my answers was all i do is sleep and the only time im up is when im going to work and eating
i also feel that i may be over eating
i feel very hopless and i dont know what to do about it
im 19 years old and i will be 20 in sept i have nothing to show
i feel like its to late for me
ive never been in a serious relationship because i have trust issues with men
i dont know what a good man is
my father my uncles and my brother do not play a big role in my life
i have plenty of women around me though but my mother doesnt help me she
is honestly the cause of the reason why im crying now and why im having panic attacks
i just feel know one understands me in my family because everything is very oldschool and taboo
so i feel it is time for me to get professional help.

Dear red

so sorry to hear of yr troubles BUT u r young. Seek help right away...when I was yr age, all these conditions were taboo...we did not talk about problems outside or in the family...it was considered a sign of weakness, poor character blah blah, too scandalous!!! So i lived a life of abysmal bouts of depression, self medicating my way thyru the 60s and 70s, well up to 2005, when I took my 1st antidepressant. But, not just meds, you need some one to talk to. I ALWAYS feel better after my sessions-they are like a life preserver for me. I don't know yr finances b ut even here in the poorest state, we have a clinic that will prescribe meds and see a therapist. Getting the right combo may take time but hang on, the cavalry is coming.

I hope you seek some help asap-it just will not get better on its own, but it can get better

Hi Red,

Welcome to the HealingWell Depression forum. The most important thing I want to say is that your life isn't over. And yes, you are young. We learn all our lives. And you my friend are just starting. You may make mistakes along the way, but you learn from them. Don't give up on yourself. Keep trying to do what is right. And live in the moment.

Hugs, Karen

From one new forum user to another, welcome to this forum. Check back again and post often. People here can offer very good advice. Because they have similar afflictions, they also can share experiences that you may experience, and give you first-hand knowledge of ways they have managed to deal with their problems.
