I am terribly depressed, lonely, and feeling isolated. I also have anxiety. I just started back on effexor. I have no appetite or desire to do anything. I am also suffering from chronic insomnia. Any suggestions?

hi jamie here. yes, keep talking with your dr. sounds like some residual side effects happening, these will pass. try to keep yourself occupied with enjoyable things. try and get out -even if just for a walk. it helps. sending healings to you aprlsh. with compassion, jamie

Hi Aprlsh,

Welcome to the forum. Jamie is right, if you can get yourself to take a small walk, it will help you to feel better. Walking is so good for us.

I hope that you do feel better soon. Stay with us and keep posting.

Hugs, Karen

Hi, Aprlsh,

I hope you feel better fast...but I guess depression can take awhile...I have had depression for years and years, but I have been feeling good for quite awhile (years). You are doing the right thing by reaching out to people! I just started a new thread about Red Dye and depression, but my last paragraph of that thread sums up how I feel about living with chronic illness - and depression is a chronic illness, I think. But hopefully you won't feel depressed chronically for much longer! And you definitely won't feel depressed chronically forever - I'm living proof of that... Chin up and cheerio :-)
