I am a 16 year old girl.
I've been suffering from depression/self injury since I was 12 and have had anorexia since I was 13...
I have gone to hospitals, clinics and therapists but I never seem to be able to open up.
I was stable for a while but now things have just gotten....so complicated.
I feel as if I am going to relapse.
I think my mom is catching on.

I'm just...so lost.... :(

I could use some support.... :/

hi dt. is there any support groups near you? they are really good and understand, if not is there any programs at your local mental health centre? both of these disorders suck.......and sadly go hand in hand. do you have a doc that you can speak with? would some therapy/counselling benefit you? know that we are here for support, others will chime in soon with more useful info soon. sending healing compassionate prayers your way. keep strong. jamie

Hi there,

We aren't allowed to discuss self harm on this forum, but we can discuss other things that are bothering you. I highly recommend counseling for this. Do you have a counselor? If not, start out trying a school counselor and see where that takes you. You do need support right now.

I hope that you feel better soon. Take care, be good to yourself.

Hugs, Karen

hi dyingthin,
relapsing do happens when you are in to the stage of recovery.. so have a straight vision towards recovery, and possibly try to disclose your problems to the health consular to whom you are taking medications..

Hi!
I want to encourage you to talk to your mom. The secrets really do make it much harder to stay on the right path.

Hello and welcome,

I had a dear friend with depression and anorexia who ended up in the hospital.   Long story short, they could not get her to eat so the priority was to deal with the depresion.  ECT - shock treatments, electroconvulsive therapy was chosen. ECT is usually administered to patients in a series of treatments, ranging from six to twelve treatments over a two week period. Most of these patients have had no success on antidepressants or mood stabilizing medications.

This did bring her out of the depression and then the Drs. were able to deal with her anorexia.

I would strongly encourage you to talk with your Mom, get into some serious couseling - perhaps even twice a week to start with.

Remember there is always hope even when you are so far down you feel like you will never be happy again.

Take care and know we are here for you.

Kindly,
Kitt
