Hello and welcome,
I had a dear friend with depression and anorexia who ended up in the hospital. Long story short, they could not get her to eat so the priority was to deal with the depresion. ECT - shock treatments, electroconvulsive therapy was chosen. ECT is usually administered to patients in a series of treatments, ranging from six to twelve treatments over a two week period. Most of these patients have had no success on antidepressants or mood stabilizing medications.
This did bring her out of the depression and then the Drs. were able to deal with her anorexia.
I would strongly encourage you to talk with your Mom, get into some serious couseling - perhaps even twice a week to start with.
Remember there is always hope even when you are so far down you feel like you will never be happy again.
Take care and know we are here for you.
